June 2007. I finally registered the website domain victorymuseum.org and decided to build a site and see what would happen.
Early 2006. I began to build this idea in my head and mentioned it a few times to various people. The idea was inspired partly by hearing about Kent Hovind's "Dinosaur Adventure Land," a young-earth "creation science" museum with, uh,
shaky scientific information (to put it nicely)*. The thought process was along these lines: "If he can successfully build a Christian museum with psuedo-science and nothing else, how much more could we accomplish if we built a museum based on many exciting aspects of historic Christianity, accompanied by sound scientific and other apologetic reasons to believe in the Bible?" I told only a few people about it, and only in passing.
* This is not meant as an attack on Mr. Hovind's faith. I admire his evangelistic zeal, something most of us could learn a lot from.
